CAROLINE
Scott always imagined that she would share her 30th birthday with her
best friend Danielle.
But when brave Dani passed away ten
years ago after losing her battle with leukaemia, Caroline faced the
milestones that followed without her close friend by her side.
Set to turn 30 in August, she is swapping presents FROM FRIENDS AND
FAMILY for charity donations in a bid to raise as much as she can for
Cancer Research UK in memory of Dani Newman - who would also have
turned 30 this year.
Caroline, 29, from High Hesket is
hosting a Black Tie and Tiara Ball at the Hallmark Hotel, Carlisle on
August 21ST TO RAISE MONEY FOR Cancer Research UK.
Caroline,
who owns Carlisle children’s store Fluffy Bums, said: “Dani would
have loved it she was a very glamorous young woman & LOVED A GOOD
PARTY!
“It should be a fantastic night.
“I want
everyone to get dolled-up and have a really good time.
“Every penny that we raise for Cancer Research goes straight into
laboratories to help find a cure for this terrible disease.
“No family should have to suffer the way Dani’s have.”
Dani, who lived in Scotby, passed away ten years ago after putting up
a strong and brave fight against leukaemia.
Caroline said:
“Dani was very bright. She was extremely clever and so strong. Even
throughout her treatment she was always thinking about other people
and how it was effecting them.”
The two friends went to
William Howard School and often discussed sharing their birthdays,
weddings and the birth of the their children together.
“We
always talked about facing these milestones together but Dani didn’t
get to do any of it,” added Caroline.
She is still very
close to Dani’s family, especially her sister Kay Mulholland who
she describes as an “absolute star & AN AMAZING WOMAN TO HAVE
COPED WITH SO MUCH LOSS, I'D BE TOTALLY LOST WITHOUT HER!"
