Recording sessions unveil exciting new material!

The Owls have been busy in the studio the last few months and are making progress with their two newest tracks, "Heartbeats" and "Polaroid".  The band were working well into the wee hours some nights; the listener will find that the tracks will have much to offer both musically and poetically.  They demonstrate the band's flair and creativity as arrangers/composers as well as just performers, and feature a diverse range of instrumentation.  Jan and Robin, usually confined to bass guitar and fiddle respectively, both offer vocals to the mix, with Robin also displaying his competence on the bouzouki and mandolin.  The tracks are also full of colour lyrically, with Fiona painting rich pictures of places, people, and moments in time.  The band attempt to breathe life into these images musically, and hence nuances like the pulsating rhythm that underpins "Heartbeats", and the references to "this train" that are reflected in the engine-like motion of the song. You can listen to samples of these tracks on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter!
